2008 - A Brief History of the Mac and Cheese Project !!

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2008, the members of the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church 7th and 8th Sunday School Class, led by Rodney Floyd and Butch Baker, began talking about people, in their own hometown of San Angelo, Texas, who didn't have enough to eat.

The class decided that they wanted to do something to help these hungry people. So, the 7th and 8th graders decided to organize and lead the "Mac and Cheese 100". The class started to collect boxes of macaroni and cheese for Project Dignidad.

They collected donations and bought as many boxes of Mac and Cheese as they could...and they invited the Sierra Vista UMC family to join them. The class was hoping to collect a 100 boxes; over a 30 day period they collected over 300 boxes of Mac and Cheese!

Tracy McIver loaded up her vehicle and delivered the boxes of Mac and Cheese to Project Dignidad.

When she got there, here is what she found....

...ONE LONELY BOX of Mac and Cheese!

Was it a "God thing" that the kids chose to collect Mac and Cheese? You decide!
